Burning the Midnight Oil: DFS Main Slate Week 10

Kyler Murray is on fire this year— he’s on pace for the first ever 4,000 yard passing / 1,000 yard rushing season ever! The Bills defense is solid, but don’t overthink this one… You need points to win, and Murray gets tons of them.

By Josh Frey

Life has been a blur. I was able to put this together this morning to ensure that all the latest information was available for these picks. Do me a favor and drop me a follow at @freyj3773 for all of my latest picks.

Main Slate:

Kyler Murray vs. Bills

§  FanDuel = $8,800 / DraftKings = $8,000

§   Kyler Murray is on fire this year— he’s on pace for the first ever 4,000 yard passing / 1,000 yard rushing season ever! The Bills defense is solid, but don’t overthink this one… You need points to win, and Murray gets tons of them.

Tua Tagovailoa vs. Chargers

§  FanDuel = $6,800 / DraftKings = $5,600

§  Tua looked like an entirely different QB last week. The Chargers have been underperforming and are going to be without Bosa again this week. With Tua’s ability to throw the ball and his rushing upside, he could be in for a big game. Looking forward to Tua vs. Herbert round 1…

Kalen Ballage at Dolphins

§  FanDuel = $5,300 / DraftKings = $5,000

§  Get the laughs out of the way… After a solid debut as a Charger, Ballage put up a respectable 84 total yards along with a rushing score. Miami is short run-stuffing DT Christian Wilkins, and Ballage may be running with a little extra juice this week as he’s playing the infamous “revenge game!” Justin Jackson was just put on IR, so the opportunity is there, and Ballage actually looked good last week. I think he keeps it up in week 10.

James Conner vs. Bengals

§  FanDuel = $7,600 / DraftKings = $6,900

§  12% chance of precipitation could make the Steelers turn to the run game early and often. James Conner is due for a big week and the Bengals have a middle of the pack run defense. It’s also worth noting that there could be gusts around 16mph; affecting deep ball passing but not short passes (to running backs?). Conner should put up quality numbers.

James Robinson @ Packers

§  FanDuel = $7,300 / DraftKings = $6,600

§   25+mph winds, a chance of snow, and the Packers non-existent run defense set up Robinson for a top-3 week as long as the Jags can keep the game close. Worth the price of admission.

Miles Sanders @ Giants

§  FanDuel = $7,700 / DraftKings = $6,400

§  Another weather-affected game here, with a 65% chance of precipitation along with 15mph winds, but the reason to play Sanders this week is that he’s a workhorse back at a discounted price. He should see enough volume to be a difference maker this week.

Tyler Lockett at Rams

§  FanDuel = $7,400 / DraftKings = $6,500

§   Rumor is that Jalen Ramsay is going to shadow D.K. in this one. Regardless of who you think wins that battle (definitely D.K.) it should cause Wilson to look Lockett’s way a little more often than usual. Lockett should see double digit targets in this high scoring matchup.

Brandon Aiyuk @ Saints

§  FanDuel = $6,500 / DraftKings = $5,700

§  No Kittle, no Deebo, not even Mostert… Sign me up for Brandon Aiyuk in an offense that will get him touches in a variety of ways. The Saints defense came alive last week vs. the Bucs, but Aiyuk should be the focal point of the passing game, making him a value play this week.

Curtis Samuel vs. Bucs

§  FanDuel = $5,700 / DraftKings = $4,900

§  Curtis Samuel has been getting more and more involved in Carolina’s offense seemingly every week. He has a good connection with Teddy, and with McCaffrey sitting another week, he should get a few extra touches out of the backfield. With Samuel’s ability to go the distance on any given play, this potential volume almost makes him a no-brainer.

Josh Reynolds vs Seahawks

§  FanDuel = $5,000 / DraftKings = $3,500

§  I haven’t touched on this game nearly enough, and that’s because of how much everyone is going to play skill position players in this game… The cheapest one that is still likely to do damage is Josh Reynolds. If Kupp’s wrist gives him issues, Reynolds has the potential to blow up, at a CHEAP price tag.

T.J. Hockenson vs. (Washington) Football Team

§  FanDuel = $6,200 / DraftKings = $5,100

§  Lions are down Kenny Golladay again this week, and Washington has had issues containing TEs this year. Hockenson could be a solid play if you have the cash remaining.

Noah Fant @ Raiders

§  FanDuel = $5,700 / DraftKings = $4,900

§  Another former Hawkeye— with Albert Okwuegbunam on IR, Fant should soak up extra targets. Combined with his skill, Fant could have a big day in Las Vegas.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Bengals

§  FanDuel = $5,000 / DraftKings = $4,400

§  In a crazy 2020, one of the few constants is Pittsburgh’s defense wrecking opposing offenses. While Burrow has had a solid rookie year, I think he will be in for a rough Sunday. Paying up for the top defense could be a wise decision this week.

Houston Texans @ Browns

§  FanDuel = $3,500 / DraftKings = $2,400

§  28mph winds should keep the score in check. The Texans’ defense has been subpar this year, but so has Baker. If you’re looking to save a few bucks on defense, look no further.

Good luck and see you on the other side.
