Without further delay, let’s get to some injury news. As always, if you have a question that isn’t answered in this article, or a question about one of these players, you can always reach out to me on twitter (@kallen_4) or reddit (u/kallen_4)!

*This list excludes players on their bye week, on the COVID list, and players currently on IR who are not eligible to return this week.*

Quarterbacks:

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

Thumb, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Yet another week of limited practice for Stafford as we lead into week 14. His thumb injury has been lingering since week 11, but has not cost him any missed time. Stafford is expected to play this week against the Packers, but should he miss time, will be backed up by Chase Daniel.

Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status: Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Full
Next Man Up: After ramping up his practice participation this week all the way to a full status, Jones appears ready to go for the Giants. He still carries a questionable designation going into the weekend, and obviously carries some reinjury risk, if he does miss time, Colt McCoy will take the reigns.

Running Backs:

Kenyan Drake, Arizona Cardinals

Hip, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- N/A, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Drake landed on the injury report on Thursday with a hip injury that limited him in practice on Thursday and Friday. However, head coach, Kliff Kingsbury has shared that he expects Kenyan Drake to play in full this week. If he is limited or misses this week, Chase Edmunds will assume the lead back role.

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers

Shoulder/Quad, Doubtful
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- DNP, Friday- DNP
Next Man Up: McCaffrey seemed to be ready to roll until his quad tightened up on Wednesday, causing him to miss the rest of the week’s practices and putting week 14 in jeopardy. He is currently listed as doubtful and the chances of him playing seem slim to none with the Panthers well out of playoff contention. Mike Davis will continue to shoulder the load for Carolina at the RB position.

Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys

Calf, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Ezekiel Elliott, who has been limited in practice this week, has said that he fully expects to play through his calf injury. Against the paltry Bengals run defense he is a must start, but his limitations may raise Tony Pollard into a more significant role and some fantasy relevance if he breaks of a big run like he did in Minnesota.

D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions

Illness, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Full
Next Man Up: The long awaited return of the rookie sensation seems to be imminent. However, Swift hasn’t been fully cleared and carries a questionable diagnosis. He expects to play in week 14, but we likely will not know until game time on Sunday. If he misses another week Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson will split backfield duties.

Josh Jacobs, Oakland Raiders

Ankle, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Jacobs could possibly miss a second week in a row due to an ankle injury suffered in week 12. Last week, the Raiders RBs were led in snaps by Devontae Booker (42%) and Jalen Richard (41%), but Booker received the majority of the rushing work and carries the most fantasy value should Jacobs remain sidelined.

Salvon Ahmed, Miami Dolphins

Shoulder, OUT
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- DNP, Friday- DNP
Next Man Up: The Dolphins backfield shuffle continues. Ahmed is out with a shoulder injury and Matt Breida is on the COVID-Reserve list, but the Dolphins are expecting to have the rest of their backs including starter Myles Gaskin and his compliment, DeAndre Washington, ready to go for Sunday.

Frank Gore, New York Jets

Concussion, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- DNP, Friday- Full
Next Man Up: Gore carries a questionable designation into the weekend due to a concussion suffered early on in last week’s game. Ty Johnson will serve as his backup and will start if Gore is unable to play. After a 19.7 point showing from Johnson last week, the jets may be wise to start him anyways.

Travis Homer, Seattle Seahawks

Knee, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- DNP, Friday- DNP
Next Man Up: In a week in which the Seahawks’ top 3 backs were limited in some capacity through practice, Homer is the only one who carries an injury designation into the weekend. Unable to log a practice, it is likely that he will not play. Chris Carson will lead the Seahawks’ backfield with Carlos Hyde acting as the change of pace back.

Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team

Toe, OUT
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- DNP, Friday- DNP
Next Man Up: Gibson suffered a turf toe injury in week 13 that will hold him out of week 14. While his time of return is yet to be known, the Football Team will be without their leading rusher for the foreseeable future. While he is away, Washington will rely on the services of JD McKissic and Peyton Barber. McKissic will carry most of the passing down work with Barber handling early downs.

Wide Receivers:

DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals

Neck/Back, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- DNP, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: DeAndre Hopkins is known for being one of the toughest players in the league and knowing his body’s limits well, but his game status is ultimately up to the athletic training and coaching staffs. Fortunately, Kliff Kingsbury has expressed that he expects Hopkins to be ready for Sunday. If something changes, Christian Kirk will likely be the primary beneficiary in Arizona’s passing attack.

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons

Hamstring, OUT
Practice Status:
N/A
Next Man Up: Julio’s hamstring injury will cost the Falcons, and his fantasy managers, to miss out on his services yet again. Jones has pushed through the injury for the past couple of weeks, but the All Pro receiver will have to rest it this week. With Olamide Zaccheaus already on IR, the Falcons will be heavily reliant on Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage in the passing game moving forward.

D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers

Ankle, OUT
Practice Status:
N/A
Next Man Up: DJ Moore has already been ruled out for week 14. Luckily for the Panthers, his fellow receiver Curtis Samuel has recently been activated from the COVID-Reserve list and will be eligible to play this week. Samuel and Robby Anderson should be the primary targets in the passing game until Moore is able to return.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals

Hamstring, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Higgins has been limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury, but head coach, Zac Taylor, is optimistic that the rookie should be able to play this week. If Higgins is out, Tyler Boyd and running back Gio Bernard will likely seen an uptick in targets.

Kenny Golladay, Detroit Lions

Hip, OUT
Practice Status:
N/A
Next Man Up: Another week, another Golladay absence. The receiver that many took as their WR1 has only played in 4 games this year, and will continue to disappoint in week 14. Marvin Jones will lead the receiver group with young Quintez Cephus expected to play a larger role as well in the absence of both Golladay and recently released Marvin Hall.

Keke Coutee, Houston Texans

Foot/Neck, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Full, Friday- Full

Brandin Cooks, Houston Texans

Foot/Neck, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: With the Texans losing Will Fuller to suspension, they will become increasingly reliant on Keke Coutee and Brandin Cooks, right? Not so fast, the tandem both showed up on the injury report and enter the weekend with questionable designations. If either are limited, rookie Isaiah Coulter expects to see an expanded role.

Denzel Mims, New York Jets

Personal, OUT
Practice Status:
N/A

Jamison Crowder, New York Jets

Calf, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Limited, Thursday- Limited, Friday- DNP
Next Man Up: The already lackluster Jets receiving corps continues to take its lumps in week 14 as rookie Denzel Mims will miss time for personal reasons and Jamison Crowder picked up a calf injury in practice this week. Whether his Friday DNP was precautionary or because he was unable to play is not known, but the Jets’ coaching staff have not expressed much optimism about Crowder’s status this weekend. If he does play, he is likely to be limited. Breshad Perriman and Braxton Berrios will lead the Jets receivers in the event of his absence.

Tight Ends:

Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers

Knee, QUESTIONABLE
Practice Status:
Wednesday- Full, Thursday- Full, Friday- Full
Next Man Up: Despite three full practices this week, Thomas is still listed as questionable due to a knee injury. It appears likely that he will play, but if he misses time, Chris Manhertz should start in his place.

Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings

Foot, Doubtful
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- DNP, Friday- DNP

Irv Smith Jr., Minnesota Vikings

Back, Questionable
Practice Status:
Wednesday- DNP, Thursday- Limited, Friday- Limited
Next Man Up: Neither of the Vikings tight ends have produced very much in terms of fantasy points this season, and the trend will likely continue as both have been on the injury report all week long. Rudolph is expected to miss week 14 and Smith has yet to practice fully after missing last week’s game. I expect Smith to play but contribute minimally. If both miss time, Tyler Conklin should fill in, but serves very little for fantasy purposes.

Remember, injury status is a moving target and the majority of these situations are liable to change between now and game time this weekend. Keep an eye on your roster, and monitor the official injury reports closely as the week comes to an end. When in doubt, play the healthy player, and remember, the best ability is availability! That concludes the week 14 injury report, if you have any questions or comments, please reach out to me via twitter (@kallen_4) or reddit (u/kallen_4). Good luck this week––go earn those playoff berths!
